A bottle of eyewash solution, expired as of October 2019, was found in the emergency eye wash station located <br />in the facility's back receiving area, next to the mop sink (see photos IMG 9481-3). <br />2. A bottle of eyewash solution, with an expiration month of November 2019, was found in the emergency eye wash <br />station located in the storage room behind the fish tanks, next to the refrigerator. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: All facility communications or alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill control <br />equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to <br />assure its proper operation in time of emergency. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Bring the facilities eye wash stations into proper working order by replacing the expired <br />eye wash solution. Provide a corrective action statement to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br />Department within 30 days. <br />This is a minor violation. <br /> 404 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to inspect hazardous waste storage areas at least weekly. <br />OBSERVATION: According to the hazardous waste training guide, the hazardous waste storage area weekly <br />inspection checklists for the past three years are to be maintained in the training and compliance binder (see photo <br />IMG 9502). Completed weekly checklists were not found at the time of inspection (IMG 9487). According to Ashley <br />Hammick, Assistant Store Leader, weekly inspections of the hazardous waste storage area have not been <br />conducted. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: The owner or operator shall inspect areas used for container storage or transfer, at <br />least weekly, looking for leaking containers and for deterioration of containers and the containment system caused <br />by corrosion or other factors. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately, begin inspecting the hazardous waste storage areas weekly.
