Shea Homes- Northern California Langston II
4943.009.007 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
TABLE 3.2.1-1: Historical Review Summary
HISTORIC . •
Topographic Maps 1914, 1916,1940,1942, 1943, 1952,1953
1968, 1978, 1980, 2012
1937, 1940,1957, 1963, 1966, 1975,
Aerial Photographs 1979, 1982, 1993, 1998, 2006, 2009,
2012, 2016
Sanborn Maps N/A
Historic topographic maps from 1914 to 1943 indicate that the Property was undeveloped.
Mountain House Creek is north of the Property, trending southwest to northeast. The
Alameda-San Joaquin County boundary is shown west of the Property. Surrounding properties
contain few residences. The Property remains unchanged from 1952 to 1968, with the exception
of a pipeline shown crossing the northeast corner of the Property. The pipeline is no longer shown
in in the 1978 map. The Property remained unchanged in the 2012 map, though residential
development is shown to the north.
Aerial photography from 1937 to 2009 show the Property remained undeveloped and utilized for
agricultural purposes. It appears that row crops were the primary agricultural focus. Residences
are visible nearby. Between 2009 and 2012, the Property remained unchanged, though it appears
that grading activities had taken place to the west, and a residential community is shown to the
north. In 2016, the Property appears to be sheet graded, as does the adjoining properties. A
detention basin is visible to the south of the Property. Additional residences are visible to the
northwest and a school to the north.
VL lopq
3.2.2 City Directory
City Directories, published since the 18th century for major towns and cities, list the name of the
resident or business associated with each address. Listings for South Central Parkway are mainly
associated with rural residential uses. The City Directory report is presented in Appendix E.
3.3 ENVIRONMENTAL RECORD SOURCES
EDR performed a search of federal, tribal, state, and local databases regarding the Property and
nearby properties.
