® Use scraper and scoop to pick up absorbed spill and place spill, scoop, and scraper <br />into biohazard bag or container. Broken glass may be placed into this <br />container as well. <br />® Soak contaminated surface with disinfectant/ cleaner and wipe with clean paper <br />towel in order to clean. This may need to be repeated. <br />® Soak again with the disinfectant and let sit according to manufacturer's instructions <br />in order to disinfect for TB. Be sure to block off the area to reduce potential of slips <br />and falls. <br />® Dispose of all PPE and cleanup materials into the bag or container and use hand <br />wipes/gel or wash hands as soon as feasible. <br />® Review procedures to determine the cause of this spill and if changes in policy and <br />procedure need to be made. <br />® Spills that may impact the environment or present a clear and imminent public <br />health hazard should be reported to the Banfield CTS Regulatory Compliance <br />Specialiste <br />Should disruption of pickup service or natural disaster occur, this hospital shall store <br />contained waste in a secure area until disruption ends; but for no longer than 30 days.
