The geology will be logged by a profeasional geologist under the superviSiuii
of a registered geulogist. Soil rumples will be collected on five foot intervals
fn.r geological and possible analytimal evaluation. Upon collection, all Soil
samples will he scaled with aluminum foil, capped, labeled rind placed in a
cooler at 4' Celcl tia for transport to the laboratory follow I UK Chain of ClUsWdy
Protocol,
4. 1.1pon reaching total depth, a groundwater sa,upie, will be collected twing the
Goo-Probe. The end of the probe will be driven into first groundwaWr and
the tool retracted to expose the screened interval to g,•ouudwater.
Groundwater samples will then be collected using a 100 ml atainlQ,,,.; steel
hailer belayed by a clean dedicated nylon string. Two 40 ml VOA vials
preserved with HCL will be collected along with 1 liter of water in 811
unpreserved amber glass container. Bailer cleanlinec6 will be verified by
collecting a bailer blank (pouring distilled water through the bailer and
collecting it in al VOA vial) prior to collecting the analytical sample.
Disposable gloves will be worn by the sampling tedujiciatn while collecting all
samples. R34remo caro will be exercised during the collection of each sample
to prevent agitation of the water contained in the hailer. All sampleK will be
checked for head apace bubblen, labeled, inserted into foam hulders and
Placed in an ice chost cooled to 4°C for transport to the laboratury.
Sail and water sanoplets will be shipped to Shc;rwuod Lahs (DHS #)1400), of
Hilmar, California, for analyaie. Note that not all axil tiumpleu collectors are
likely to be submitted for laboratory analytsid. Field obaervations, as recorded
in the boring logs, and the purpose of the investigation will tsuggu8t which
samples are appropriate for analysis- It ib aand ipated that at least one
sample taken from the capillary fringe zone from the burin; and one water
sample will be submitted for, alialysit;as follows:
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPH-Gasolinc) by EPA method
8015m, and
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diene! (TPH-Dietiel) by EPA
m,ctbod 064Uf801 5(n1)(rsuil)-351(/801 5(ui)(waLer)-
Benzene, Toluu,ac, Ethylbenzene, and Total Xylenes (BTEX) by abbreviated
RPA 8020(soA)/C,(l2(water)
2937 Veneman Ave.,*K2AD Ge.rP'la it Environmental Inc.
