ARCADIS Mr. McKinley Lewis, Jr.
April 20, 2011
• Weed abatement equipment mobilized to the Site will include: a backhoe
with a mower attachment, hand-held gasoline-powered weed eaters,
shovels, rakes, and machete-like vegetation trimmers. A portable water
tank will be mobilized to the Site for dust control and fire prevention.
• Personnel performing the weed abatement will be 40-hour Hazwoper
trained and they will wear Personal Protective Equipment including inner
liner gloves, outer gloves, Tyvek, and protective booties over steel-toed
and shank boots. Two employees will mobilize to perform the weed
abatement over a period of approximately three days.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Program
QC samples, including field duplicates, equipment blanks, and field blanks, will be
collected as detailed in the Work Plan (LFR 2010). Soil sampling and sample
handling methods and procedures are detailed in the Work Plan (LFR 2010).
Analytical Methods
Samples will be submitted to a California-certified analytical laboratory on a standard
turnaround basis.
Report
The results of this scope of work presented herein will be incorporated into the PEA
Report. The report will include a discussion of field procedures, presentation of field
observations, a summary of analytical results, conclusions and recommendations. If,
based on the findings of the additional soil sampling, minimal mitigation appears
necessary, general housekeeping may be recommended for small quantity
excavation and off-site disposal.
Proposed Work Schedule
Upon approval of this Addendum, ARCADIS anticipates beginning the fieldwork on
Friday, April 22, 2011. The work is anticipated to take approximately 1.5 days to
complete; therefore, the fieldwork will be completed on April 25, 2011. Weed
abatement activities will not be conducted until an agreed-upon date in May 2011.
ARCADIS anticipates providing a draft PEA report to the DTSC for their review by
the last week in May 2011. The anticipated schedule precludes conditions beyond
Page:
Final PEA Work Plan Addendum.Aprl t-RV009808.doc 8/11
