ARCADIS Mr. McKinley Lewis, Jr. <br /> April 20, 2011 <br /> • Weed abatement equipment mobilized to the Site will include: a backhoe <br /> with a mower attachment, hand-held gasoline-powered weed eaters, <br /> shovels, rakes, and machete-like vegetation trimmers. A portable water <br /> tank will be mobilized to the Site for dust control and fire prevention. <br /> • Personnel performing the weed abatement will be 40-hour Hazwoper <br /> trained and they will wear Personal Protective Equipment including inner <br /> liner gloves, outer gloves, Tyvek, and protective booties over steel-toed <br /> and shank boots. Two employees will mobilize to perform the weed <br /> abatement over a period of approximately three days. <br /> Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Program <br /> QC samples, including field duplicates, equipment blanks, and field blanks, will be <br /> collected as detailed in the Work Plan (LFR 2010). Soil sampling and sample <br /> handling methods and procedures are detailed in the Work Plan (LFR 2010). <br /> Analytical Methods <br /> Samples will be submitted to a California-certified analytical laboratory on a standard <br /> turnaround basis. <br /> Report <br /> The results of this scope of work presented herein will be incorporated into the PEA <br /> Report. The report will include a discussion of field procedures, presentation of field <br /> observations, a summary of analytical results, conclusions and recommendations. If, <br /> based on the findings of the additional soil sampling, minimal mitigation appears <br /> necessary, general housekeeping may be recommended for small quantity <br /> excavation and off-site disposal. <br /> Proposed Work Schedule <br /> Upon approval of this Addendum, ARCADIS anticipates beginning the fieldwork on <br /> Friday, April 22, 2011. The work is anticipated to take approximately 1.5 days to <br /> complete; therefore, the fieldwork will be completed on April 25, 2011. Weed <br /> abatement activities will not be conducted until an agreed-upon date in May 2011. <br /> ARCADIS anticipates providing a draft PEA report to the DTSC for their review by <br /> the last week in May 2011.
