0
STATE OF CALIFORNIA GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN,Governor
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD—
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
3443 ROUTIER ROAD
SACRAMENTO,CA 95827-3098
8 August 1989
Mr. Alan Biedermann, RS
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
ROBERT RONYAK SITE, MCKINLEY AVENUE, MANTECA e-
Mr. Ronyak has expressed an interest in feeding cannery wastes directly to beef
cattle at his feed lot at 19015 Mckinley Avenue. Although no waste management
plan has been submitted to address this specific activity at the site, there
should be no threat to water quality from feeding cannery wastes as long as the
waste is notensiled or allowed to accumulate.
The feed lot operation should not pose a threat to water quality as long as it
is operated in compliance with water quality regulations. The violation of water
quality regulations documented during an inspection on 12 January 1988 should
be corrected before the onset of fall precipitation. Improvements need to be
made to prevent accumulation of water in corrals, and corral runoff needs to be
managed in a manner in which water quality is adequately protected.
If you have any questions concerning this matter please call me at (916) 361-
5711.
O
OUIS F.
