Box 5104 PER <br /> Stockton, CA 95205 <br /> PLANS FOR CANNERY WASTE STORAGE AND CATTLE FEEDING AT MCKINLEY ROAD SITE. <br /> In a telephone conversation on 27 July you stated that you intend to take the <br /> following steps to protect water quality at your McKinley Road site while storing <br /> cannery waste and feeding beef cattle: <br /> 1. If possible, store low moisture pomace. <br /> 2. Install concrete retaining walls in the silage pits. <br /> 3. Provide a concrete sump to collect leachate from silage pits, <br /> and corrals. <br /> 4. Distribute wastewater from the collection sump onto adjacent <br /> cropland. <br /> These steps, if properly executed, should provide adequate water quality <br /> protection. Please keep me informed of -any changes in your plans. I would also <br /> like to inspect the site prior to placing pomace or other wet material in the <br /> pits. <br /> If you have any questions, feel free to call me at (916) 361-5711. <br /> F.
