Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
F.W. CATTLE COMPANY, LAND SPREADING PERMIT APPLICATION
I have reviewed the information submitted by Robert Ronyak for application for
a permit to spread cannery mud and waste at the F.W. Cattle Company site on
McKinley Road. The comments that I have are on a plication rates of the mud.
I calculated the nitrogen content of the mud on the basis of test results
provided by Mr. Ronyak.
Assuming a goal of 125 lbs N per acre, up to 65 tons of cannery mud can be
applied per acre (dry weight basis). Since some of the nitrogen in the mud is
an organic form, it would not all be available in one growing season.
Therefore, as proposed, the nitrogen loading rate as a result of spreading
cannery mud should not have an impact on ground water quality.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-6711.
LOUIS F.
