The swimming pool is rectangular in shape (see Plans)The perimeter length is <br /> approximately 240 feet. Contractor to verify dimensions. <br /> IMPORTANT NOTE: Previous work on the diving pool revealed that the <br /> ground water in the area is around 6 feet below grade. Pool draining should <br /> not be a problem. <br /> The DISTRICT will be responsible for draining the pool. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for any residual dewatering of the pool. <br /> B. The bond beam is suspected to be adequate for the mounting of the stainless steel <br /> gutter support anchors. If however, additional steel and concrete work is required <br /> the contractor shall be provided a detail to supplement the plans to complete such <br /> additional work as required to provide a sound structural base for the SS gutter <br /> system. <br /> C. The work for this project is scheduled to be completed during the aquatic <br /> department"down time"between November 14 2005 (end of swim season and <br /> January 27th 2006 beginning of the water polo season. The pool may be available <br /> earlier, depending on post season swimming competition. <br /> D. Upon award, the contractor is encouraged to order the gutter materials <br /> immediately and have equipment on sight ready to begin the gutter demolition as <br /> soon as the pool is available for work. <br /> PART II. DEMOLITION <br /> A. General: Remove pool gutter concrete, tile, coping stones and concrete deck as <br /> necessary to install the new gutter system and plumbing. <br /> B. Pool perimeter work: <br /> 1. All debris shall be removed from the site and legally disposed. <br /> 2. Contractor to expose and cap the return inlets (4 total) on either end of <br /> the pool. <br /> 3. Contractor shall remove and save, if possible, all concrete anchors for <br /> hand rails etc. <br /> 4. Contactor to remove all skimmer bodies and cap all connecting <br /> plumbing. <br /> 5. Contractor to remove all skimmer equalizer ports into the pool and <br /> cap. See plan for additional information. <br /> 6. Contractor to cut the existing gutter and deck as necessary to accept <br /> and mount the new stainless steel gutter system. <br /> 7. Contractor to cut and remove additional deck area to accommodate the <br /> 3 <br />
