0 .
Comments:Although not known, it is likely that the summary table proceeding Tables 1 through 4
and including analytical results for SVOCs, PAHs, PCBs, VOCs, petroleum hydrocarbons and
dioxins/furans was likely requested from AGE since Tables 1 through 4 only summarized metal
analytical data. The second page of the table identifies some samples as "Building Samples," this
terminology does not appear to have been explained in previously reviewed documents; however,
the sump samples may be related to a sump previously mentioned in a 1986 document.
,Calltet 'trttobe ;y 11" CVRWWS 00
This document consists of tables summarizing analytical data from samples reported as collected
October 9, 2015 and photographs documenting sample locations/sample materials of the waste
excavation areas referred to as the north and south cells. The table does not include an author;
however, an analytical report related to the sampling is addressed to the CVRWQCB.According to
the chain of custody documentation, the samples were collected on October 21 (table indicates
October 9). Analytical testing was conducted for PCBs, CAM 17 metals, SVOCs, dioxins and
furans and fluoride salts. It appears that five samples, designated as #701 through 705 were
collected and analyzed of specific materials observed in the waste excavation areas. Sample
#701 was of white material from the north cell face wall, #702 (missing information from
document) appears to be native soil near the north cell face wall, #703 burgundy material from
south cell face wall, #704 orange, gray, white powdery material from upper right of south cell wall,
#705 burnt orange material from south cell wall. The table also includes residential and
commercial OEHHA and Regional Screening Levels (RSLs) for comparison. Based on the table,
aroclor 1260 was detected in several samples, with one sample containing a concentration
exceeding both residential and commercial OEHHA and RSI-s.
Comments: This information suggests that contamination other than "glass waste" may be present
based on descriptions of discolored "soils" observed in the excavation. Although not known, it is
possible that the discolored material was not soil, but was actually wastes or wastes mixed with soils.
eenching, d Sl ec tc_ rrrr+ " .i }
fid #atX0
eo fi ctat 2
This figure is dated July 2015; however, the file name is dated October 2015. The figure indicates
approximately 91 exploratory trenches and most of the previous borings, and shows three areas
outlined in blue which according to the Legend are the "Estimated Pond Area (Historical)" located
south of the power plant and east and south of the northern waste disposal area. Also indicated
on the figure are two areas outlined in red indicated on the Legend as "Deep Soil Excavation Area
(not to scale)" and along a portion of the dirt road an area outlined in yellow not identified in the
Legend.A black dashed line is shown on the figure; however, is not explained in the Legend.
Comment: Information indicating the presence or absence of wastes, waste thickness, if present
and estimated extent of wastes is not shown.
Ninyo&Moore 1 500 E.Louise Avenue,Lathrop,San Joaquin County,California 1 104690095 1 August 11,2017 43
