I 11. EXECUTION
1! 1 CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULM
SWD will schedule installation of the soil gas wells after the approval of the drilling
permits by EHD. SWD has tentatively planned to install the wells in July 2013.
The project is expected to be completed in three (3) working days. Work hours for the
drilling contractor will be Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Inspection by
EHD will be scheduled within that time (see below).
2.0 MARKING PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION
A high-pressure petroleum pipeline owned by Shell Oil is present in the general vicini-
ty of the proposed soil gas wells (Figure 1). Prior to drilling, Underground Service
Alert (USA) and Shell Oil will be notified. Drilling will be coordinated with Shell Oil
representatives in their presence.
3.0 INSPECTION
Well Installation, including placing casing, gravel, bentonite, and the top cement seal,
will be in the presence of EHD inspector. SWD will notify EHD five (5) working days
in advance for the first inspection. Consecutive inspections will be scheduled with
EHD in the field based on the progress of well construction.
SWD will schedule inspections with EHD from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during working
days when inspection will be needed. SWD will pay overtime for inspections that re-
quire overtime hours by EHD staff. SWD understands that drilling the well borehole
does not require inspection by EHD.
4.0 DRILLING
Drilling of the wells will be by Gregg Drilling, a licensed drilling Contractor.
A hollow stem auger drill rig will be used for drilling. SWD's contractor is required to
clean the drilling equipment off-site before drilling.
Drilling of the wells will be to the depth specified (Figures 2 and 2A). A boring log will
be compiled during the drilling of the well by SWD's consulting soil's Engineer or Ge-
ologist. Sand lens encountered during drilling will be documented; however, no sand
lenses have been detected in the boring of the previous monitoring wells. A
hand-written boring log will be provided to the EHD inspector before4well construction.
Work Plan -Soil Gas Well Installation Page 2-4— Solid Waste Division
Corral Hollow Landfill Public Works Department
