B ox 2089 <br />Stockton, California 95201 <br />MARITIME HIGHWAY CORRIDOR PROJECT— ROUGH & READY ISLAND, PORT WEST <br />COMPLEX, STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region (Central Valley Water <br />Board) staff has reviewed the Work Plan for Well Destruction (Work Plan), received on <br />8 March 2011, and the revised Work Plan, received on 28 March 2011. Environmental Risk <br />Services Corporation prepared the documents on behalf of the Port of Stockton (Port). <br />Central Valley Water Board staff completed a conditional approval letter for the Work Plan on <br />24 March 2011. That letter indicated that staff approval would be granted after the Port <br />resubmitted the Work Plan, signed by a qualified professional engineer or geologist. The <br />revised Work Plan was signed by a qualified professional geologist. <br />The proposal to destroy the monitoring wells and piezometers is acceptable to Central Valley <br />Water Board staff.
