A 6-inch diameter concrete core cutter will be used to cut a hole through
the concrete floor of the room. Hand auger soil boring tools will then be used to collect a 0
to 6 inch sample and a 1 to 1.5 foot sample of soil from beneath the floor. The sample pairs
will be used to gather information regarding the vertical distribution of any contaminants that
may be identified. The following table provides the expected sample identifiers:
Sample ID Sample Location Sample Analytes
Brine 0.5-1.0 Pump Room Brine Release.5 to 1 foot Total Chrome&Hexavalant Chromium
Brine 1.0-1.5 Pump Room Brine Release 1 to 1.5 feet Total Chrome&Hexavalant Chromium
Semi-Volatile Organics of Uncertain Origin
A group of authoritatively selected samples will be collected from several points in the
vicinity of the building at 1404 W. Weber. The 6 sample points will be on either side of
large roll-up access doors on other side of the building, and from points on south side of the
building where a Geoprobe boring previously produced a soil sample with trace
concentrations of semi-volatile organic compounds.
The samples will be collected from a depth of 0 to 1 feet and slightly deeper sample will be
from 1 to 2 feet below the surface. The sample pairs will be used to gather information
regarding the vertical distribution of any contaminants that may be identified.
