Health and Safety Plan, Subsurface Investigation
Potential New Court Site, Stockton, California
Discussing potential health and safety hazards with the FM, SH&EP, and the Project Manager
Implementing air monitoring according to directives in this HASP or other SH&E documentation
and forwarding all employee exposure monitoring information to the SH&EP to enable the
exposure notification
Implementing the field elements of the Earth Tech Respiratory Protection Program
Maintaining decontamination procedures that meet established criteria.
The SSO is required to have completed an 8-hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Training Course in
accordance with 8 CCR §5192 (e)(4).
2.5 Subcontractors
Each Earth Tech subcontractor is responsible for assigning specific work tasks to their employees. Each
subcontractor's management will provide qualified employees and allocate sufficient time, materials and
equipment to safely complete assigned tasks. In particular, each subcontractor is responsible for
equipping its personnel with any required personnel protective equipment (PPE).
Earth Tech considers each subcontractor to be an expert in all aspects of the work operations for which
they are tasked to provide, and each subcontractor is responsible for compliance with those regulatory
requirements, which pertain to those services. Each subcontractor is expected to perform its operations
in accordance with its own unique safety policies and procedures, to ensure that hazards associated with
the performance of the work activities are properly controlled. Copies of any required safety
documentation for a subcontractor's work activities will be provided to Earth Tech for review prior to the
start of on-site activities, if required. In the event that subcontractor procedures/requirements conflict
with requirements specified in this HASP, the more stringent guidance will be adopted.
Hazards not listed in this HASP but known to any subcontractor, or known to be associated with a
subcontractor's services, must be identified and addressed to the Earth Tech Project Manager or the FM
prior to beginning work operations. The FM or authorized representative has the authority to halt any
subcontractor operations, and to remove any subcontractor or subcontractor employee from the site for
failure to comply with established health and safety procedures or for operating in an unsafe manner.
Project 104290.19.01 6 January 2009
