Health and Safety Plan, Subsurface Investigation <br />Potential New Court Site, Stockton, California <br /> <br />4.0 GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES <br />The following requirements apply to all work activities to be conducted during the environmental <br />investigation at the site. <br /> <br />4.1 HAZWOPER Requirements <br />All Earth Tech and subcontractor personnel performing work activities for this project must be qualified <br />as HAZWOPER workers, and must meet the training and medical monitoring requirements specified in <br />Section 1.0 of Earth Tech Environmental Practice Standard SH&E 301, Hazardous Waste Operations <br />(see Attachment B). <br /> <br />4.2 On-Site Training Procedures <br />In accordance with the requirements of Earth Tech Environmental Practice Standard SH&E 202, Safety <br />Meetings (see Attachment B), the following safety training will be conducted as part of field operations: <br />Initial Orientation Training — As operations are initiated on site personnel will be trained about <br />potential hazards at the work site, and the requirements specified in this HASP for hazard <br />prevention. <br />Tailgate Safety Briefings — The SSO will conduct a tailgate safety briefing at the start of each <br />work day. <br />Hazard Communication Training — The requirements for on-site management of hazardous <br />materials is specified in Earth Tech Environmental Practice Standard SH&E 115, Hazard <br />Communication Program (see Attachment B). All personnel shall be briefed on the hazards of <br />any chemical product they use, and shall be aware of and have access to all material safety data <br />sheets (MSDSs). <br />All site-specific training should be documented on the Tailgate Safety Briefing Sign-in Log, a copy of <br />which is found in SH&E 202. <br />Project 104290.19.01 11 January 2009
