Health and Safety Plan, Subsurface Investigation <br />Potential New Court Site, Stockton, California <br />4.3 General Site Safety Rules <br />The following Earth Tech Environmental Practice Standards are generally applicable to all work <br />operations to be conducted on site, and must be followed by all personnel present on site: <br />SH&E 201 — General Safety Rules <br />SH&E 113 — Personal Protective Equipment <br />SH&E 404 — Manual Materials Handling <br />SH&E 405 — Handling of Drums and Large Containers <br />Copies of these procedures may be found in Attachment B. <br />4.3.1 Smoking, Eating, and Drinking <br />Smoking, eating and drinking will not be permitted within any controlled work area. Field workers will <br />first wash hands and face immediately after leaving controlled work areas (and always prior to eating or <br />drinking). Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited at any Earth Tech site. <br />4.3.2 Housekeeping <br />During site activities work areas will be continuously policed for identification of excess trash and <br />unnecessary debris. Excess debris and trash will be collected and stored in an appropriate container (e.g., <br />plastic trash bags, garbage can, roll-off bin) prior to disposal. <br />4.3.3 Personal Hygiene <br />The following requirements will be observed: <br />Water Supply: A water supply meeting the following requirements will be utilized: <br />Potable Water - An adequate supply of potable water will be available for field personnel <br />consumption and use in cleaning activities. Potable water used for drinking can be provided in <br />the form of water bottles, canteens, water coolers, or drinking fountains. Where drinking <br />fountains are not available, individual use cups will be provided as well as adequate disposal <br />Project 104290.19.01 12 January 2009
