Air Sparging Pilot Test Related Activities Report and Remedial Action Work Plan
Former Countryside Market, Stockton, California April 30, 2015
6.7.1 Vapor Stream Sampling
In addition to the routine O&M activities outlined above, vapor stream samples may be collected
and analyzed to evaluate system performance and comply with SJV-APCD permit requirements.
As described above, total VOCs will be measured during O&M site visits. In general, a PID will be
used for these measurements. To confirm these field measurements, vapor stream samples from
the system influent and individual SVE wells may be collected in TedlarTm bags. The samples will
be transported under COG to a California-certified hazardous materials testing laboratory and
analyzed for VOCs using EPA Method TO-15 or equivalent (gas chromatograph/mass
spectrometer, or GC/MS, for VOCs). Field PID readings will also be compared to laboratory
analytical results to develop a correlation between field and laboratory data.
6.7.2 Water Handling
Water produced from the knock-out tank will be containerized and profiled for off-site disposal.
6.7.3 Carbon Changeout
PID readings and vapor concentrations from the series of carbon vessels will be used to evaluate
carbon loading and compliance with SJV-APCD permit requirements. When needed, the GAC in
vessel(s) will be replaced and transported off-Site for regeneration.
6-6 The Source Group, Inc.
