PUBLIC SERVICES. Would the project: <br /> a. Result in substantial adverse physical impacts <br /> associated with the provision of new or physically <br /> altered governmental facilities or a need for new or <br /> physically altered governmental facilities,the <br /> construction of which could cause significant <br /> environmental impacts,in order to maintain <br /> acceptable service ratios,response times,or other <br /> performance objectives for any of the following <br /> public services: <br /> Fire protection? ❑ ❑ ■ ❑ <br /> Police protection? ❑ ❑ ■ ❑ <br /> Schools? ❑ ❑ ■ ❑ <br /> Parks? ❑ ❑ ■ ❑ <br /> Other public facilities? ❑ ❑ ■ ❑ <br /> Setting <br /> Public services provided to the NCRC&SL include fire and police protection and <br /> the maintenance of the area roadways by the County. No parks,schools,or other <br /> public facilities are located in the general project vicinity. <br /> The Stockton Fire Department conducts a yearly inspection of fire extinguishers <br /> at the site and provides training to employees on fire safety and equipment <br /> operation. The Linden Fire Department provides fire protection services to the <br /> facility. <br /> The County Sheriff s Department provides law enforcement services in the <br /> unincorporated areas of the county. There are 124 uniformed deputies,providing <br /> patrol services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The deputies are divided into eight <br /> patrol teams on 2-day-off sequences(four teams on duty each day). The county <br /> is divided into eight geographical areas or beats. These beat areas are staffed <br /> around the clock,providing emergency response capability to citizens in the <br /> unincorporated area(San Joaquin County Sheriffs Department web site). <br /> Notice of Preparation for the June 2006 <br /> North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill 2-67 <br /> Permit Revision AS 06307.06 <br />
