Solid Waste Facility Permit package from the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works applying
for a JTD amendment.
The amendment adds the operation of a Caterpillar 825C Compactor to compact waste on the tipping
floor of the Recycling Center before it is transported to the landfill. The compactor will operate in a
designated location and all personnel will leave the tipping floor while the compactor is operating. A line
of concrete K -rails will be placed between the compactor and self -haul unloading area to protect
personnel and customers from explosion hazards.
The EHD finds that the proposed change is consistent with all applicable certified and/or adopted
California Environmental Quality Act documents, is consistent with the State Minimum Standards for
Transfer/Processing Facilities and does not conflict with the terms and conditions of the SWFP. The
EHD approved the amendment on February 7, 2006.
Where a copy of the application can be reviewed
A copy of the approved application for the JTD amendment is available for public review by appointment
at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department offices located at 304 E Weber Ave, 3rd
floor, Stockton, CA 95202-2708.
LEA contact information
If you have any questions after reviewing the above information or would like to schedule an appointment
to review the JTD amendment, please contact Robert McClellon at (209) 468-0332 or
rmcclellon@sjcehd.com.
Appeals Process Information
For information about the appeals process to challenge the Environmental Health Department's approval
of the JTD amendment, please contact Robert McClellon at (209) 468-0332 or rmcclellon@sicehd.com.
