building near the southwest corner and then back into designated
tipping stalls on the west end of the building (figure 2).
Commercial vehicles will enter near the southeast corner and back
into tipping stalls on the east end of the building (figure 2) .
The public and commercial waste will be dumped onto a common
tipping floor (35,000 sq. ft.). The tipping floor is approximately
eight feet below the commercial tipping area and four feet below
the public tipping area.
RECYCLING
The waste will be manually sorted on the tipping floor by County
personnel and with front end loaders. Recyclable materials such
as paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, metals, wood, yard waste, and
other recyclables will be separated, consolidated, and pushed into
recycling bins. The recycling bins rest on another level on the
north end of the building which is approximately eight feet lower
than the tipping floor (figure 2).
A public drop-off area will be located adjacent to the public
tipping area (figure 2) . The drop off area will consist of several
small bins in which the public can drop off such as aluminum cans,
paper, plastic, cardboard, and other recyclables.
When bins containing recyclable materials are full, they will be
stored on site until they will be loaded onto trucks and taken to
market, or stored on site until they can be taken to market.
