F The Compactor Ram can be stopped any time during operation
by depressing the RED EMERGENCY STOP mushroom button.
To restart, press EMERGENCY STOP button a second time.
Unit will also stop any time either one of the Load Doors
are opened while running.
STERILIZER
CAUTION: TO PREVENT MELTED PLASTIC FROM DAMAGING STERILIZER,
AUTOCLAVABLE PLASTIC BAGS MUST BE USED.
It is required that designated operators be assigned and trained in the
operation of the STERILIZER and the handling of Biohazardous/Infectious
Waste.
1 . Check to see that STEAM and WATER supply valves are turned ON.
2. Install a new paper CHART on the Time and Temp. RECORDER at the be-
ginning of each week. (7 day charts) .
Temp. indicator should read approx. 2000F. constant, indicating that
proper preheat temp. is being maintained.
3. See that all RED bags or any other Biohazardous material has been
placed into Autoclavable bags before loading into Sterilizer.
4. TO OPERATE STERILIZER:
A. To OPEN Sterilizer chamber, rotate hand wheel counter-
clockwise to the LEFT to fully retract holding arms inward
as to clear the door frame when door is opened or closed.
CAUTION
MAKE SURE ARMS ARE FULLY RETRACTED BEFORE CLOSING DOOR TO PREVENT
DAMAGE TO DOOR HINGE.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN WHEN RED STERILIZER LIGHT IS ON OR CHAMBER
INDICATES PRESSURE.
Door automatically locks during Sterilizing cycle and Discharge
operation.
B. Carefully place bagged material into Chamber. Using PROBE
attached to unit, puncture each bag and squeeze handle to
inject water into bag for several seconds. PROBE is then
placed back into it's holder containing a disinfectant
solution.
C. Once Chamber is filled to capacity, to 1 .4 cubic yards, door
may be closed and sealed by rotating the hand-wheel
clockwise to the RIGHT as far as it will go using normal
hand pressure.
Hand-wheel is mechanically locked by door locking solenoid
once cycle has started.
