Ramon, Ray O SPLC-STD/HA/1<Ray.Ramon@shell.com>
Subject: 3515 Navy Drive Lift Station Questions
Think Secure. This email is from an external source.
Good morning Steven,
I had more questions on the lift station system installed at 3515 Navy Drive.
1) Do you have engineer calculations for the concrete lift station for structural integrity? There was only a pad that
was designed to cover the lift station. The fiberglass lift station is not encased in concrete. See civil Drawing (5-
100)
2) Where are the drains that feed the lift station?
There are two streams that feed the lift station. See drawing (1-103430)
1.) Load rack strip drain
2.) Water draw from the tanks
3) Is there any liquids from the AST tanks going into the lift station? Yes.Water draws from ASTs. Water draws are
pumped through the lift station.
4) What does the site do with the petroleum contact water when it is first generated? Contact water is pumped
through the lift station to Above Ground Tank-13
5) Is there any treatment of that petroleum contact water at the site? No
6) Does the lift station include any screens or filters to treat the petroleum contact water? No.
7) Is the petroleum contact water handled as hazardous waste, or hazardous materials?
Petroleum contact water was shipped under hazardous waste manifest in May 2021,to DeMenno/Kerdoon dba
World Oil Recycling in Compton, CA,where it was treated and recycled in accordance with the 'Certificate of
Treatment/Recycling' (see attached copy of manifest 021324360JJK).
8) Is the petroleum contact water discharged into the sewer system or the storm water system? No
9) If the petroleum contact water sent off site, can the site provide any shipping papers, or manifests to indicate
where the petroleum contact water is going to? See attached manifest (021324360JJK)with Certificate of
Treatment/Recycling from DeMenno/Kerdoon
10) What happens to the petroleum contact water once off site? It is treated and recycled: attached Certificate of
Treatment/Recycling' issued by DK.
If there are any documents that Shell would like to submit for the EHD to review in regards to the lift station, please
attach the documentation.
If you have any questions, just let me know.
Thank you for your time,
Frederick Ernest
Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health
209-616-3026
fernest@sigov.org
S10UIN
—COUNTY
Greatness grows here.
2
