ODOR CONTROL PLAN
Cultiva, LLC is dedicated to control odors in such
a way as not to materially disrupt the ability of any
reasonable person to enjoy the reasonable use of
that person's residence or areas open to the public.
The company will implement proper odor control
techniques to ensure any odors associated with the
cultivation, processing, storage of cannabis
material will comply with odor control regulations
mandated by San Joaquin County as well as the
California Department of Food and Agriculture.
System design:
The system is proposed to be designed with two
different air filtration strategies; positive air filtration systems, and negative air filtration systems.
Negative air carbon/charcoal filtration systems or {exhaust)will be utilized, in the common areas
of the facility, offices, processing room, and the storage rooms. Anywhere there is a door entry to
the facility it will open to a negative pressure carbon air filtration system to ensure no odors will
leave the facility. Positive air filtration systems (or scrubbing) will be utilized in the areas of the
facility storing, packaging, or handling cannabis products.
All charcoal carbon filters are sized appropriately to the manufacturer's guidelines. The activated
carbon will chemically absorb the smell of the marijuana and as the air passes through the filter,
the vaporized terpenes in the air will be extracted. The carbon filter will be set in the exhaust
system and as the air in the room passes through, the air is deodorized and thus, smell-free. There
will be an HVAC system in the grow rooms to ensure optimum environmental conditions for a
closed system.
Employee Responsibilities: Employee's will be trained to follow the proper protocols to make
sure there is odor control in all areas where cannabis is grown, stored, or processed. The
following will be checked and recorded with the employees name, signature, and date:
• Ducting is secured properly and there are no holes or issues with seals
• Power running the system is not being generated
• Odor is not coming out of the exhaust from the outtake fan to ensure the filter doesn't need to be replaced.
• Follow manufacturer's timeline suggestions for changing filters.
• Refrain from emitting odors by closing doors at all times.
Copyright' Step Wise Consulting LLC 2020 All Rights Reserved -Confidential— Do Not Copy or Distribute Without Authorization
