1-6 <br />from food facilities as defined in Health and Safety Code, Section 113785, grocery <br />stores, institutional cafeterias (such as, prisons, schools and hospitals) or residential <br />food scrap collection." In addition, the composting facility will-also handle§ food <br />processing residue as feedstock. <br />• Garbage means "all kitchen and table food waste, and animal or vegetable waste <br />that attends or results from the storage, preparation, cooking or handling of food <br />stuffs" in accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17225.30. <br />• Sewage Sludge "includes an y residue . excluding grit or screenings . removed from a <br />waste water . whether in a d ry. semidrv or liquid form." <br />• Biosolids means "solid, semi -solid, or liquid residue generated during the treatment <br />of domestic sewage in a treatment works. Biosolids includes, but is not limited to; <br />domestic septage and scum or solids removed in primary, secondary, or advanced <br />wastewater treatment processes. Biosolids does not include ash generated during <br />the firing of sewage sludge in a sewage sludge incinerator or grit and screenings <br />generated during the preliminary treatment of domestic sewage in a treatment <br />works." <br />• Mixed Solid Waste means "any material which is part of the municipal solid waste <br />stream, and is mixed with or contains non-organics, processed industrial materials, <br />or plastics. A feedstock that is not separated or contains 1.0% or more physical <br />contaminants by weight is mixed solid waste. Compostable material that contains <br />mixed demolition or mixed construction debris shall be considered mixed solid <br />waste." <br />• Manure is an agricultural material and means "accumulated herbivore or avian <br />excrement. This definition shall include feces and urine, and any bedding material, <br />spilled feed, or soil that is mixed with feces or urine. " <br />• Mixed paper is paper contaminated by organics suitable for composting that is not <br />suitable for direct recycling or paper that is used as a bulking agent. <br />• Ash may be incorporated into composting mixtures to help reduce odors. <br />• Grit/grease from wastewater treatment plants and restaurant grease traps. ho lding <br />tank pumoings and septic tank pumpings ma y be accepted. Acceptance of these <br />wastes depends on having sufficient d ry compost feedstock to absorb excess water. <br />Water from these sources will be used to replace use of onsite water to create initial <br />compost mixture moisture content within the desired range. <br />• "Canne ry Rinse Water " is produced from the cleaning of produce in preparation for <br />canning. from the cleaning of equipment. and from the actual canning process. The <br />rinsate water contains approximatel y one to two percent solids.
