Item No. _
PC: 6-5-86
SU -86-10
Page 11
"Presently we have electric distribution facilities on the west
side of the frontage road and the north side of Jahant Road.
These power lines serve properties on both sides of the road. (A
portion of the Jahant Road line is underground because of the
adjacent airport.)
"CPUC has not required the undergrounding of existing overhead
facilities that are adjacent or within a new subdivision. The
only requirement is that any lots served from these overhead
facilities be installed underground, if the subdivision does not
meet the requirements of CPUC Decision Number 81620.
"If it is a requirement that the existing lines are placed
underground, the cost associated with the undergrounding will be
in accordance with Electric Rule 20B at Applicant's expense (copy
attached).
"We do not object to serving this subdivision overhead, provided
the requirements fo CPUC's Decision Number 81620, mentioned
above, are met."
Caltrans (response, 5-12-86):
"1. The proposed subdivision will have a significant impact on
the Route 99 at Jahant Road interchange. The majority of the
traffic associated with this new subdivision will utilize
Route 99. Additional traffic at this location should be
carefully analyzed before reaching a conclusion the project
will not have a significant effect on the environment.
112. We are concerned with the cumulative impacts of the develop-
ment of this portion of San Joaquin County and the impacts
this will have on Route 99. If additional developments in
this area are planned we must coordinate impacts expected on
the transportion system and potential improvements as early
as possible. It is our intent in District 10 to promote
local economic development through improved transportion
access to existing and planned development in cooperation
with local and regional agencies and the private sector.
However, it is our Department Policy that those who share in
the benefits of such improvements should also participate in
the costs."
Lodi Unified School District (response, 4-21-86):
"In looking at the map provided with the referral and a small
scale school district map, it appears that this subdivision will
be served by four or five school districts: Lodi Unified School
