I. H KEEINMDUR N ASSOCIMES File No . S-2008-1
December 21, 1972
PAGE FOUR
Groundwater was encountered in the deep Boring 2 at a
depth of 49 feet below existing ground surface . It is
possible that this groundwater level could change at some
time in the future due to variations in rainfall, ground-
water withdrawal or other factors not apparent at the time
our measurements were made .
11 Bulletin 146 , San Joaquin Groundwater Investigation,"
dated July, 1967, by the Department of Water Resources
indicates that the groundwater level in this general area
dropped between 20 and 30 feet during the period of 1950
through 1964 .
PERCOLATION TESTS
A total of five percolation tests were performed . The
holes , except for test 5 , were lined with perforated Orangeburg
pipe . The holes were 6-inch diameter and varied in depth from
4-1/2 to 5 feet .
The holes were initially filled with water and allowed
to presoak . The tests were performed by filling the hole with
water to a fixed reference point and allowing the water to
percolate . The percolation test data are presented on Plates
III through VII .
LABORATORY TESTING
A limited series of laboratory tests were performed to
evaluate the moisture content and dry density and grain-size
