PROTECTION OF LIFE AND PROPERTY <br /> The Contractor shall provide and maintain such barriers, fences, <br /> street closed signs, red and white lights and watchmen as may be <br /> necessary to prevent accidents in execution of his work and to pro- <br /> tect such work, and he shall be liable for all damages in any way <br /> occasioned by his acts or negligence of his agents, employees or <br /> workmen. <br /> INSPECTION <br /> Any work or material that may be found which does not comply with <br /> the specifications at any time previous to the final acceptance of the <br /> completed work, shall be corrected or replaced in such a manner as <br /> to comply with the specifications. Samples of all materials to be used <br /> upon the work shall be furnished to the Engineer upon his request. <br /> CLEANING UP <br /> After completion of the work, or as directed by the Engineer, the <br /> Contractor shall remove all temporary structures, equipment debris <br /> and waste material resulting from his operations. <br /> NOTICE TO ENGINEER <br /> Three (3) days prior to beginning of any work, the Contractor shall <br /> notify the Engineer of intent to begin work. If the work is interrupted, <br /> of if the type of work is changed, the Contractor shall notify the Engineer <br /> twenty-four (24) hours before any additional work is started. <br /> PROTECTION OF EXISTING WORK AND MONUMENTS <br /> The Contractor shall be held responsible for the protection of any exist- <br /> ing work, trees, improvements, monuments, lot or grade stakes. <br /> Should any of these be damaged or destroyed by him, they must be re- <br /> paired or replaced and the costs paid by the Contractor. <br /> PROTECTION OF EXISTING UTILITIES <br /> The Contractor shall fsaU y i s If as to the Jocation of all ext tin <br /> utilities and improvementf ,lnar �terttertsbn <br /> their protection.
