PROTECTION OF LIFE AND PROPERTY The Contractor shall provide and maintain such barriers, fences, street closed signs, red and white lights and watchmen as may be necessary to prevent accidents in execution of his work and to pro- tect such work, and he shall be liable for all damages in any way occasioned by his acts or negligence of his agents, employees or workmen. INSPECTION Any work or material that may be found which does not comply with the specifications at any time previous to the final acceptance of the completed work, shall be corrected or replaced in such a manner as to comply with the specifications. Samples of all materials to be used upon the work shall be furnished to the Engineer upon his request. CLEANING UP After completion of the work, or as directed by the Engineer, the Contractor shall remove all temporary structures, equipment debris and waste material resulting from his operations. NOTICE TO ENGINEER Three (3) days prior to beginning of any work, the Contractor shall notify the Engineer of intent to begin work. If the work is interrupted, of if the type of work is changed, the Contractor shall notify the Engineer twenty-four (24) hours before any additional work is started. PROTECTION OF EXISTING WORK AND MONUMENTS The Contractor shall be held responsible for the protection of any exist- ing work, trees, improvements, monuments, lot or grade stakes. Should any of these be damaged or destroyed by him, they must be re- paired or replaced and the costs paid by the Contractor.
