Special Provisions - CIPP (Con't) <br /> If soft and spongy soils are encountered, soil shall be stablized or replac- <br /> ed in conformance with Section 19 of the Standard Specifications. Should <br /> conditions be encountered under portions of the pipeline which make the <br /> use of cast-in-place pipe unsatisfactory, in the judgement of the Engineer, <br /> he may require the use of precast pipe in such locations. The additional <br /> special inspection cost provided for later in this section shall not be appli- <br /> cable to precast pipe so substituted. <br /> At the time of concrete placement, all soils in contact with cast-in-place <br /> pipe shall be moist, stable and the trench shall be completely free of water, <br /> mud and debris. <br /> Concrete shall be mixed and placed in conformance with the applicable <br /> portions of the Standard Specifications, except as directed by these <br /> Special Provisions. <br /> Fresh concrete shall not be permitted to fall from a height greater than <br /> six (6) feet without the use of adjustable length pipes or elephant trunks. <br /> Minimum wall thickness for the various sizes of pipe shall conform to the <br /> fol lowing: <br /> Internal Diameter Minimum Wall Thickness <br /> 30" 3111 <br /> 48" 5" <br /> 60" 6" <br /> 72" 7" <br /> The actual internal diameter of the pipe at any point shall not be less <br /> than 98% of the nominal internal diameter. Offsets at form laps and <br /> horizontal edges shall not exceed the thickness of the forms plus seven <br /> (7) percent of the minimum wall thickness. <br /> The temperature of the concrete, when being placed shall not be more <br /> than 90 F. in moderate weather.
