<br /> <br />SP 31 <br /> <br />A. Pumps shall be installed according to the Manufacturer Installation Guide for the <br />respective pump. <br />B. The contractor shall start up the system in accordance with manufacturers <br />recommendations with the manufacturer present. The contractor shall also <br />demonstrate to the owner all control functions and that all programming is <br />functioning properly prior to acceptance. In addition, the contractor shall <br />provide to the owner all operations manuals and documentation including all <br />program settings. <br />C. Prior to start up and system testing all pipes, gravity and pressure mains shall be <br />flushed and pressure tested. <br /> <br />SECTION 13 – COMMON ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT <br />13‐1 GENERAL <br />13‐1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. Manufacturers: Thomas & Betts Corp., Wiremold, Panduit, Allied, Hubbell, Southwire, <br />Hoffman, Crouse Hinds, Cooper, Federal Signal, Franklin, Liberty or approved equal. <br /> <br />B. Install and make electrical equipment locked and non‐accessible. <br /> <br />C. Follow the manufacturer’s written instructions for installation and testing where <br />these instructions are not included in the approved plans or specifications. <br /> <br />D. Standard equipment nameplates shall be laminated black with white lettering <br />phenolic plastic nameplates fastened to equipment with #4 phillips round head <br />cadmium plated steel self‐tapping screws; installed on electrical boxes, panels, <br />enclosures, disconnect switches, time switches, panelboards, etc. with source of <br />circuit, rated voltage and amps, panel name, and operating instructions. Special <br />nameplates shall be as shown on plans. <br /> <br />E. The entire electrical installation shall be free from short circuits and improper <br />grounds. Test all wiring and connections for continuity and grounds before any <br />fixtures or equipment are connected, and where such tests indicate faulty insulation <br />or other defects, they shall be located, repaired, and retested until 100%. <br /> <br />F. Adequate working space shall be provided around electrical equipment in compliance <br />with the electrical safety orders. In general, provide six and one‐half feet (6’‐6”) of <br />headroom and thirty‐six (36”) inches minimum clear workspace in front of
