<br /> <br />SP 34 <br /> <br />IV. Conduits not connected with locknuts and bushings shall be <br />fitted with grounding bushing, OZ Type BLG; U.L. approved <br />and bonded. <br />V. Conduit stubs underground shall be sealed on both ends and <br />have a pull line and be capped with coupling, nipple, and plug. <br />VI. Conduits connected to boxes, cabinets, etc., exposed to <br />weather or in areas subject to excessive moisture shall be <br />fitted with watertight sealing hubs with sealing ring and <br />insulated throat, Myers hub, T&B 370 Series, Efcor 40‐50B <br />Series or equal. <br />VII. Metal conduit in contact with the ground shall.be wrapped in <br />10 mil Scotchrap 50 tape or equivalent, half‐lapped. Not <br />required to be concrete encased when run underground <br />except at road or alley crossings. Use fittings intended for the <br />locale; consult manufacturer with specifics of the application <br />for engineering recommendation. <br />VIII. Only conduit approved for use on roof. <br />IX. Slope exterior conduit and provide drain; seal around <br />conductors on both ends of conduit. <br /> <br />b. Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT): <br />I. Rolled steel, zinc coated outside with either zinc‐coating or <br />other approved corrosion‐resistant coating on the inside. <br />II. Couplings shall be raintight compression type Appleton TWC‐ <br />CS Series, or equal. <br />III. Connectors shall be raintight compression type with insulated <br />throat Appleton TW‐CSI Series, or equal. <br />IV. Concealed in drywall partitions. <br />V. Exposed in telephone and electrical equipment rooms above <br />six‐foot elevation. <br />VI. Concealed above furred ceilings. <br />VII. Exposed in fan rooms and/or plenum chambers. <br /> <br />c. Flexible Metal Conduit: <br />I. Used for indoor final connection to mechanical equipment and <br />final connections to recessed lighting fixtures; not to exceed <br />72‐inches. <br />II. Minimum trade size of half (1/2”) inch.
