<br /> <br />SP 36 <br /> <br />I. May be used only for indoor installation at locations <br />specifically permitted on the plans. <br />II. Shall be Wiremold brand name with matching connectors and <br />accessories. <br />III. Two compartment steel type shall be as manufactured by <br />Wiremold Type 4000 complete with cover plates, outlets, etc. <br />with matching fittings. <br />IV. Painted to match wall or ceiling finish. <br />V. Metallic raceways only. <br /> <br />2. Conduit Support and Fittings: <br />a. Conduit shall be supported with straps, with galvanized steel split <br />ring and rod for individual runs or with Kindorf, Unistrut, or equal <br />channel for multiple runs. <br />b. Distance between supports shall not exceed CEC minimum. <br />c. Conduits shall be supported independently of one another. <br />d. If allowed, conduits run on roof shall be fastened to application‐ <br />specific block set in mastic on roof structure using galvanized <br />double hole straps and screws. <br />e. Multiple conduit runs shall be gathered neatly in straight lines and <br />fastened individually to the block. Maintain proper conduit <br />separations as noted on plans. Maintain 18‐inches between high <br />and low voltage conduits/conductors. <br />f. Conduit straps for individual runs shall be secured by toggle bolts <br />on hollow masonry, expansion shields and machine screws on <br />solid concrete or masonry, machine screws or bolts on metal <br />surfaces, and wood screws on wood construction. <br />g. Use of nails to anchor straps on wood construction is prohibited. <br />Straps shall be 2‐hole steel with ribbed back, galvanized or <br />cadmium plated. <br />h. Use of perforated strap iron or nail type straps is prohibited. <br />i. Except where otherwise noted, conduit fittings shall be Appleton. <br />Unilets and Condulets shall be steel and fitted with covers and <br />gaskets. <br />j. Telephone and signal conduit bends where required shall have a <br />radius of ten times (10x) the conduit trade size. <br />k. Underground conduit bends shall have a minimum radius of <br />twelve times (12x) the conduit trade size.
