June 6, 1985
Terry Piazza
Baumbach and Piazza Inc.
323 West Elm Street
Lodi , CA 90240
RE: Saddle City, 14958 Thornton Rd. ,
It is the position of the Health District that the use of septic systems as an
Interim or permanent method of sewage disposal for high water use developments
in high water table areas has not proven satisfactory. S^_ptic systems in the
area arround your project have a history of failure. Our resistance to
development of similar types of projects in this area on septic systems nas
increased.
We believe them are several alternatives that can be explored.
1. Provide package treatment and disposal facilities which will meet
Regional .Water Quality Control Board requirements as well as those
of tie Local Health District for the entire project.
2. Explore the development of a .service area for all the properties
currently zoned Highway Service in that immediate area.
3. Explore the, possibility of connection to the City of Lodi treatment
facilities for the entire }lighway Service area.
If we can be of any service to you in the justification for a collective sewage
treatment and disposal system please feel free to contact Al Olsen, Supervising
Sanitarian of .my staff at (209)466-6781 ext. 50,
Jogi Khanna, !%U. , 'IiPH
District Health Officer
C. Leland Hall , Director
Environmental Health Division
CLH/AO:jw
