• Observe transformers for signs of abrasion,damage,or deterioration(e.g.,pitted or severely rusted steel, bowing of <br /> pipe between supports,or other deterioration),and assess if there is any oil leakage. <br /> • Observe hydraulic equipment for signs of abrasion,damage,or deterioration(e.g.,pitted or severely rusted steel, <br /> bowing of pipe between supports,or other deterioration),and assess if there is any oil leakage. <br /> Written monthly inspections records are signed by the appointed inspector and maintained with this SPCC Plan for a <br /> minimum period of three years in accordance with 40 CFR§112.7(e)(8). <br /> 8.3 PERIODIC INTEGRITY TESTING (40 CFR 112.8(C)(6)) <br /> Monitoring of the external condition of the above ground tanks by performing a formalized visual inspection once a <br /> month as described in Section 8.2. The above ground storage tanks at the Facility are shop-fabricated and pose a low <br /> risk of internal corrosion. All tanks are under 5,000 gallons and are exempt from the requirements of integrity testing <br /> under Steel Tank Industry(STI)Standard SP001. The STI Standard SP001-00 requires that: <br /> 1. Records of the Periodic Inspections(i.e.,monthly inspections)are kept for at least the previous year and the current <br /> year. <br /> 2. Records of any"Critical Situation"are kept for the entire life of the tank. <br /> If severe corrosion situation is observed or anticipated,integrity testing shall be performed by a certified inspector as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. Hydrostatic testing of the tank for tightness <br /> 2. Non-destructive(ultrasonic)testing of tank shell thickness. <br /> 3. Visual inspection of- <br /> a. Tanks for presence of water in lowest portions of the tank(bacteria in water can cause corrosion),exterior surface <br /> for signs of deterioration, All pipe connections to tank for evidence of leakage, and Operating vents and <br /> emergency vents. <br /> b. Tank supports for integrity,damage and signs of corrosion and damage. <br /> c. Tank foundation for integrity and damage. <br /> 202204 DTEStockton-SPCC RPT.docx 8-3 <br />
