Santos Ranch Resident
November 29, 1984
Page 2
Primary standards are those which, if not met, could pose a
health problem. Secondary standards pose no health problem,
but could be found to make the water taste, appear, or smell
objectionable.
3. Why is the Falling Head Percolation Test not being required
by the Local Health District at this time, as recommended iri
the Water Quality Management Plan?
ANSWER:
Lee Hall, of the Local Health District, Division of Environ-
mental Health, has advised that it is their recommendation
that the Falling Head Test be used. However, the present
standard by the State is not to use this test and the present
local ordinance specifies other test methods. At the least,
the local ordinance will have to be changed prior to this
test method being adopted.
4. Why is condition No. 16, as recommended by the Water Quality
Management Plan, not being required?
ANSWER:
Mr. Hall has stated that they are requiring shallow filter
bed sewage disposal installations in those areas where they
feel excessive high ground water exists which would prevent
proper operation of the normal design leach fields. He
further stated that, in his opinion, the groundwater con-
ditions in the Santos Ranch area do not require this type of
installation.
5. Are culverts required for the driveways that service the par-
cels on the south side of Von Sosten Road in the vicinity of
Lammersville School?
ANSWER:
Full frontage improvements are required fronting these lots
and were a condition of the land division approval. This
work will be accomplished in conjunction with the current ad-
joining subdivision development.
6. Are turn-arounds required on these parcels?
ANSWER:
No.
