PHILIP ENVIRONMENTAL employees will have First Aid and CPR <br />training. <br />Before work on this hazardous waste site begins, all involved staff will <br />be briefed on the Site -Specific Safety and Health Plan. The initial training <br />will be provided prior to entering the site, by the Site Safety Officer. This <br />training will focus on the potential hazards present at the site safety and health <br />procedures specific to this project. This proposed training will include, but <br />not be limited to the following: <br />1. Project introduction <br />2. Characteristics and potential hazards of the <br />....chemicals on site. <br />3. PPE - function, care and limitations <br />4. Decontamination procedures <br />5. Location of safety and first aid equipment <br />6. Emergency evacuation plan <br />7. General safety concepts <br />All sub -contract personnel who have limited experience working on Philip <br />Environmental 's Household Hazardous Waste Collections will be required to <br />attend a special 1/2 hour training session that will review, in-depth, the <br />ditties and procedures for each work area onsite. The meeting will be run by <br />a PHILIP ENVIRONMENTAL staff member and will be completed prior to <br />the general site safety meeting and site opening. <br />The site safety meeting, which is held prior to event opening will emphasize the <br />following concepts: <br />1. Roles of Supervisory staff in an emergency. <br />2. Identification/ recognition of problems by staff and notification procedures <br />thereof <br />3. Emphasis on 40 Hour safety -training and responsibility of workers on site <br />safety in their work area <br />G. MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE: <br />All Philip Environmental employees who may be exposed to <br />hazardous substances or health hazards are required to participate in PHILIP <br />ENVIRONMENTAL, medical surveillance program. The program requires a <br />complete pre-employment physical with associated laboratory tests. All <br />employees have passed this examination to detect any medical condition that <br />would place the employee at increased risk of impairment of the employee's <br />health from work in hazardous waste operations. emergency response or from <br />respirator usage. An annual update exam or closure physical is required for all <br />
