SAMPLE ANALYTICAL PROCEDURES

Surface samples and soil samples collected at 3, 5, and 7 feet bsg will be analyzed by an
ELAP-certified laboratory for the following constituents:

 PCBs (full list) in accordance with EPA Method 8082.

Soil samples collected at 10 feet bsg will be held at the laboratory for PCB analysis, if
necessary.

Soil samples collected at 5, 10, 15 and 20 feet bsg will be analyzed by an ELAP-certified
laboratory for the following constituents:

 Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline, diesel and oil range
compounds (TPH-g/d/o) in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified.

Laboratory reports for analyses, testing methods and laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC), and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations.

3.8. BORING ABANDONMENT

All soil borings will be permanently sealed to prevent vertical migration of potential
contaminants. Soil borings shall be abandoned by backfilling with cement grout from the
total depth to surface grade. The top three to six inches of the boring abandonments will
be completed flush to surface grade with native soils or concrete. The SJCEHD will be
notified for grout inspection at least five days prior to conducting grouting procedures.

3.9. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT

All non-disposable sampling equipment will be triple-rinsed in a solution of Alconox prior
to advancement of each boring. Rinseate and soil/waste generated during drilling
activities will be containerized in properly labeled Department of Transportation (DOT)-
approved 55-gallon drums and stored on-site in an area generally lacking public access.
Disposal alternatives will be evaluated at a later date based on laboratory results.
