05110 Structural & Miscellaneous Metals <br /> b. The Contractor/Fabricator shall submit to the Owner's Testing Laboratory, <br /> Architect/Engineer certified mill test reports for the members, and shall furnish an <br /> affidavit confirming that all materials used in the fabrication and shipped to the <br /> job are from grades specified and match the certificates supplied. <br /> c. All such identification must be submitted to the Owner's Testing Laboratory, the <br /> Architect/Engineer and USA for review and approval. <br /> 3. Steel materials forming structural shapes that are not identifiable per 2 and all steel <br /> materials with Fy greater than 36 ksi must be tested. All tests shall be performed by a <br /> recognized testing laboratory. Testing shall meet the requirements of CBC Chapter <br /> 22, Section 2231, Testing and Inspection. The Contractor shall submit all test data to <br /> Owner's Testing Laboratory, the Architect/Engineer for review. <br /> C. Welding Inspection: <br /> 1. Inspect shop and field welding including welding equipment, weld quality, welder <br /> certification and conformity with drawings. Requirements shall be in accordance with <br /> CBC Section 2231.5 and Chapter 17. <br /> a. All welders shall be AWS qualified and as follows. Current written qualification <br /> shall be submitted to USA. <br /> 1) Welders who have not performed welding for a period of three (3) or more <br /> months shall be re-qualified. <br /> 2) Welders whose work fails to pass inspection shall be re-qualified before <br /> performing further welding. <br /> 3) Qualification of welders is at the expense of the Contractor. If welders are not <br /> qualified or need to be re-qualified and the Testing Laboratory performs this <br /> service,the costs shall be deducted from the contract price. <br /> D. Inspect bolted connections made in shop and field. Special inspection per CBC Section <br /> 2231.2. <br /> E. Inspect shop fabrications per CBC Section 2231.4. <br /> F. All re-inspections necessitated by non-conforming work shall be at the Contractor's <br /> expense. <br /> 1.04 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Verification of material grades and properties per paragraph 1.03.13. <br /> B. Shop drawings: Prepare complete shop drawings showing bolt and anchor setting plans, <br /> and all details of layout fabrication and erection. All details must reference detail callouts <br /> on the Construction Documents. Submit to Architect/Engineer for review before the start <br /> of fabrication. Shop drawing submittals that do not meet these requirements will be <br /> returned for correction without review. Shop drawings shall indicate type and location of <br /> shop and field connections; and type, size, extent and sequence of welds. Shop drawings <br /> shall indicate fabrication tolerances for all steel. Secure all field measurement as <br /> necessary to complete this Work. Provide holes, welded studs, etc. as necessary to secure <br /> work of other sections. This review is of a general nature only and all responsibility for <br /> conformance with drawings and specifications and for dimensions shall remain with the <br /> Contractor. Contractor shall review and approve shop drawings prior to submittal. <br /> C.
