S 7CTION 22 PUMP AND PR SSURF SYSTEM A. GENERAL RTQUIRF.1JTTTT'S : These s ecifications are intended to cover the furnishing and installation of a deep well turbine pressure pump, electrical controls , pressure tank, and all related piping and appurtenances . All work shall be complete , in place, and ready to operate. B. DE=FT:—ILL VERTICAL TUR3I J 1. The pump shall be standard catalog products of a manufacturer regularly engaged in the production of this type and size of equipment and shall be of the type and size and capacity for the service specified. Materials used in the manufacture of the equipment shall be of the best quality used for the purpose, 'Vorkmanship shall be of the highest grade throughout and in accordance with the best standard practice. The pump shall be a Johnston 10 BC or approved equal. 2. OPERATING C07DITIONS The pump shall operate at the following conditions : GPM BOWL EFFICIENCY TDH 400 --- 335' :fin. 74% 284' 6500 00 79 7c-o;' 252 ' 77% 210' The total pumping head stated herein includes pump losses . Pump setting shall be 200 ' to the top of the bowl assembly. The actual pump setting and head-capacity requirements shall be ad-lusted if necessary to suit tcie actual drawdown curve for the well. In all cases , the proper submergence shall be provided for the bowls . 3. ELECTRIC �•ZOTOR The electric motor shall be 1800 R?111, 240 volt , 3 phase 60 cycle, vertical hollowshaft with a non-raverse ratchet , P base, squirrel cage induction design. Thrust and radial bearings shall have an average bearing life of 5 years . The motor shall be rated at 40 HP -and shall not be overloaded beyond 5% at any point on the pump curve. motor shall be General Electric, U.S . or Westinghouse. 4. DISCHARGE HEAD A one piece discharge head manufactured of Class 30 cast iron shall be provided . The discharge shall be above the mounting base and shall be flanged and have a 6" inside diameter. A companion flange, 6" x 125 shall be furnished . The motor mounting register shall have a overall width equal to the motor. A separate top column flange shall be furnished for mounting on the underside of the discharge head . (44)
