10. INSTALLATION The pump and motor shall be placed and installed in full accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and in accordance with good engineering practice. Great care shall be exercised in preserving proper alignment and positioning of the equipment so that it will function quietly and smoothly. The base plate shall be in full and true contact with the supporting concrete base without shimming. A mastic seal shall be provided to the concrete base as required by the Health Department. C . HYDROPNEUMATIC PR.sSSURT LEVEL CONTROLS 1. Function: As water level falls , pressure decreases . At a preset pressure (approximately 40 psi ) , PS 1 closes starting pump. The pump brings up a column of air overcharging the tank. As pumping continues , pressure increases . At a preset pressure (approxi- mately 45 psi ) , PS 1 opens but the pump control circuit is sealed in by PWl and continues pumping. At a predetermined level PR is energized , stopping the pump. The air bleed off valve opens at a predetermined pressure (approximately 65 psi ) and bleeds pressure down to approximately 60 psi . If pressure should drop below 40 psi (at approximately 30 psi ) PS 3 closes , sounds alarm and illuminates alarm lamp. Audible alarm is silenced with momentary push button. 2. materials : All materials must be of at least equal quality to those used by TESCO. Pressure switches shallbe individually enclosed , dust tight with mercury wetted contacts . Sensing diaphrams and solid state switch shall have a combined accuracy of one half inch of water. All relays shall be encapsulated with interchangeable plug-in cards and shall conform to C .S .A. file number LRX 6377- 4 D and UL where applicable. .11otor protective devices shall meet all specific ,fob requirements including time delay relay, undervoltage protection, _single- phase, ambient compensating, and very very inverse overcurrent trip on all three legs . Current transformers , where required, shall be of metering accuracy with 0.03 burden factor. 3. Substitutions : Any additional expense incurred by the owner or engineer for special reviewing or correcting of submittals , field labor at start-up as for equipment corrections shall be charged direct to the Contractor. The manufacturers ' representative shall field adjust and check operation of the system after installation at no extra charge. If the substitute materials do not satisfy the owner in all respects he may, at any time within one year after date of complete acceptance, elect that they be replaced with the specified brand equipment at the sole expense of the Contractor.
