General Order#089-164 <br /> D. Incident Reports <br /> 1. Whenever there is an incident which results in physical harm, or serious threat of <br /> physical harm to an employee or inmate of the Manteca City Jail or other person in <br /> the Manteca City Jail the details of the incident shall be recorded in a crime report. The <br /> report shall include at least the names of the persons involved, a description of the <br /> incident, the actions taken and the date and time of the occurrence. The report shall be <br /> prepared and submitted to the Watch Commander within 24 hours of the incident. <br /> E. Classification of Inmates <br /> 1. Whenever possible the Booking Officer shall segregate inmates according to <br /> categories of age,criminal sophistication, seriousness of the crime charges, and/or <br /> assaultive/non-assaultive behavior. <br /> 2. Females and males shall be housed in separate cells. <br /> 3. Juveniles shall not be housed with adults. See General Order 9087-080. <br /> F. Communicable Diseases <br /> 1. The Booking Officer shall segregate,upon identification, all inmates with any <br /> communicable diseases. <br /> 2. The Booking Officer shall inquire of the inmate, at the time of booking, as to <br /> Whether or not he/she has or has had any communicable diseases, including but not <br /> limited to tuberculosis,hepatitis, sexually transmitted disease, or H.I.V.. The response <br /> shall be noted on the arrest/booking sheet. <br /> 3. Any inmate who answers affirmatively to Section F.2 above shall be housed <br /> separately from all other inmates, and provided with disease controlling attire (mask, <br /> gloves, etc.) as appropriate. The cell shall be marked indicating that an inmate with a <br /> communicable disease is being housed there. These inmate(s) should be released or <br /> transported to County Jail as soon as practical. <br /> 4. The cell used to house the inmate with the communicable disease shall not be used <br /> for holding another inmate until the appropriate decontamination measures have been <br /> taken. See General Order#089-076. <br /> 5. The fact that an inmate with a communicable disease was housed in the Manteca <br /> City Jail will be noted on the Watch Commander's Daily Log. <br /> 6. Personnel who transport or remain in contact with persons known to have a <br /> communicable disease should utilize personal protective equipment as may be <br /> necessary. <br /> G. Vermin/Parasite Control <br /> 1. When an arrestee shows signs of or states that he/she has lice, fleas, ticks, and <br /> scabies or other parasite on his/her body, he/she will be transported to San Joaquin <br /> County Jail where medical staff and treatment is available. The inmate will be isolated <br /> from other inmates until such time as he/she can be transported or is no longer infested. <br /> 2. <br />
