r <br /> If lite prisoner can be Iransporlcd and returned to the county jail by Sheriffs Court Services- Manteca <br /> staff. This shall be done. Treatment stay then be administered by Jail Medical Sluff or the prisoner Wray <br /> be transferred to counl• hospital if necessary. <br /> Serious iniury or illness requiring immediate medical slid will be handled in the following manner: call <br /> 911 and request an ambulance and give whatever first aid treatment is required until medical help arrives. <br /> When the prisoner is transported at least one deputy will travel with the ambulance. Should the prisoner <br /> be combalive or highly emotional. two deputies stay be required to travel with the prisoner. The tlepul%/ <br /> deputies will remain with the prisoner unlit received.or until the prisoner is secured it the counh hospital <br /> by hospital deputies. <br /> INNINVE DEN1711 <br /> In the event of an inmate's death. immediately call 911 requesting medical aid. Innmte dealhs should be <br /> treated as a crime until it is proved otherwise. The scene Avill be immediately preserved. Any witnesses <br /> will be kept separated. 'rite local police agency. Manleca Police Department. will be immediately notified <br /> to begin an investigation. Immediate notification «ill be made to the Court Services Lieutenant. The <br /> Sheriffs Detective Division A%ill also be notified. <br /> COMMUNICABLE DISEASES <br /> Prisoners transported to court from the county jail should be medically cleared for mixture with General <br /> Population Inmates. If the prisoner is to be isolated, the medical staff should provide that information to <br /> the transporting deputies. If the deputies have any reservations about accepting the prisoner, they should <br /> contact a supervisor at the Sheriffs Court Service-Manteca office. <br /> No prisoners will be accepted from local agencies That have communicable diseases. These individuals <br /> must be medically cleared for acceptance into lite court system. The agency will be required to book the <br /> prisoner inlo county jail for evaluation and medical classification. <br /> Prisoners brought in by an allied agency, tlrot have heCll injured, trill not be accepted withoul a doctor's <br /> OK 1'o Book slip. This slip must include lite type of <br /> fill arm'and all treatment given along Will any <br /> medications given. A Slip with just"OK TO BOOK"will not suffice. <br /> PRISONERS UNDER THE INFLUENCE <br /> Prisoners under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not be lrstnsporled Io the court. Any prisoners <br /> brougl I in by allied agencies that arc under the influence will not be accepted into lite court facilil%. <br /> 7 <br />
