Contractors, suppliers To ensure our contractors, suppliers, and vendors adhere to the HHM <br /> and vendors Program when performing their duties, the Store Manager must advise <br /> them of the following procedures: <br /> • Hazardous wastes cannot be disposed of in the municipal trash <br /> • If a spilled material is identified, the contractor, supplier, or vendor must <br /> immediately secure the area and contact a Designated HHM Associate. <br /> They must not attempt to clean up the spill themselves. <br /> • While stocking in Outside Garden fertilizer aisles, it is acceptable to <br /> patch broken bags in accordance with the markdown policy as long as <br /> the requirements of the Fertilizer Bag Patch Program are met. Any spill <br /> of fertilizer must be swept up at once, a Garden Associate <br /> Roles and Listed below are the associate HHM responsibilities by title. <br /> Responsibilities at the <br /> store <br /> Job Description HHM Responsibilities <br /> Store Managers • Ultimately responsible for the execution of the <br /> HHM Program <br /> • Ensuring the fertilizer run (Outside Garden), <br /> Central Storage Area, and Satellite Storage <br /> Area(s) are properly maintained <br /> • Ensuring that the emergency contact list is <br /> current and posted <br /> • Reviewing, checking completion and approving <br /> the HHM Checklist when on duty <br /> • Ensuring any necessary corrective actions are <br /> immediately taken and fully completed <br /> • Verifying that the waste transporter picks up <br /> wastes and that initial hazardous waste <br /> manifests and associated shipping papers are <br /> completed, signed, and copies filed in the HHM <br /> Program Binder <br /> • Notifying vendors, contractors and suppliers of <br /> the proper procedures to follow for a spill <br /> ASMs & Key Carrying • Ensuring proper management of all HHM <br /> DSs activities in the store. <br /> • Ensuring all compactor policies and procedures <br /> are properly executed at all times <br /> • Ensure that the"'Do Not Dispose in <br /> Compactor" hazmat signs are posted near the <br /> compactor <br /> • ASMs are responsible for approving the HHM <br /> checklist when SM is not present <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br />
