The weir must <br /> be kept level so that the water overflows the entire length of the weir. If the weir is not level, <br /> water will overflow a smaller section of the weir.This smaller overflow area increases the velocity <br /> of the water overflowing the weir.An increase in velocity can cause suspended solids to be pulled <br /> up and out of the clarifier. <br />
