DISPOSAL: <br />The shipping of Biohazardous waste will be allowed only <br />with a registered authorized waste hauler. Our current <br />service is with Stericycle. Please see section on waste <br />hauler information. <br />Any shipping activity of biohazardous waste will be <br />Coordinated with the Environmental, Health & Safety <br />Specialist through our waste hauling service, <br />Stericycle. <br />Biohazardous Waste <br />All waste must be bagged in designated red <br />biohazardous waste bags, and tightly secured to <br />prevent leakage or expulsion of contents. <br />Waste must be labeled with company name, address & phone number. <br />Biohazardous Waste (SHARPS) <br />All sharps waste will be contained in designated, rigid, <br />puncture resistant, leak proof containers. <br />Sharps waste containers must be labeled with a <br />biohazard sticker, company name, address, and <br />phone number. Sharps will be disposed of every 30 days <br />unless more than 20lbs are generated within a 30 period, <br />at which time it will be disposed of within 7 days or stored in a locking <br />freezer at 0 degree Celsius until such pickup has been arranged. <br />Pathological Waste <br />Pathological waste must be red bagged in designated <br />"RED" biohazard waste bags, and tightly secured to <br />prevent leakage of contents. (Although they are frozen) <br />The total weight per bag must not exceed 50 pounds. <br />The waste must be labeled with a company name and address upon <br />delivery to the waste hauler. <br />For more information regarding the storage and disposal <br />Of Bio -Medical Waste, please refer to the BFI Medical Waste <br />Acceptance Protocol for California.
