C <br />DECONTAMINATION: <br />Biohazardous waste. (EHS-011) <br />Any contaminated Porous Materials will be treated as solid <br />Biohazardous waste and disposed of accordingly. <br />Examples include but are not limited to: <br />Bloody bandages <br />Smocks <br />Scrubs <br />Linen soaked with bodily fluids <br />Lab and Research Facility <br />All decontaminant (cleaning) solutions will be mixed with <br />Water and contain the following: <br />Bleach (1 cup per 1 gallon of hot water Bleach will be <br />at a minimum of 500 parts per million <br />(ppm; 0.5 ml per 1000 ml) <br />Maxima 128 ('/4 cup per 1 gallon of water) <br />Immediately after use, all surgical equipment & <br />Instruments will be decontaminated as follows: <br />contaminated equipment will be soaked and <br />scrubbed free of soft tissues in a solution of <br />of the listed cleaning solutions. <br />One time rinse with potable water then sterilized 2X in <br />Hobart industrial High -Temp washer for a minimum of 2- <br />4 minutes at 121 degrees Fahrenheit with the following <br />solution: <br />ECO SAN -Sodium Hypochlorinate <br />Immediately after use, all non -porous working <br />surfaces will be decontaminated as follows: <br />Rinsed with potable water to remove all large <br />Bio -burden and liquid waste. <br />Sprayed with a mixture of decontaminant for a <br />minimum of ten minutes- repeat this twice. <br />Wiped dry of all decontaminant. <br />Immediately after use the floor will be decontaminated as <br />Follows: <br />Mop up decontaminant solution with bleach/water <br />
