SUBJECT: ENVIRONMENT OF CARE- Emergency Operations Plan PAGE 5 OF 14 <br /> 2. Participates in ongoing hospital-wide information collection and <br /> evaluation of disaster issues that are to be addressed by the <br /> Environment of Care Committee. <br /> 3. Authorization to take immediate action whenever conditions pose an <br /> immediate threat to life or death, and/or threaten damage to equipment <br /> or building. <br /> G. Emergency Management Task Force: Provides recommendations and assists <br /> in oversight for emergency management. <br /> 1. Coordinates and/or participates in the development of hospital wide <br /> Emergency Operations Plan and Policy & Procedures. <br /> 2. Coordinates emergency management activities with local, state, and <br /> federal emergency management programs. <br /> 3. Submits reports to the Environment of Care committee with critique and <br /> recommendations for any corrective action found during disaster or <br /> disaster drill. <br /> 4. Follows through on recommendations approved by the Environment of <br /> Care Committee <br /> 5. Coordinates education and training of staffing regarding emergency <br /> management. <br /> 6. Coordinates internal and external disaster drills. <br /> 7. Submits an annual summary of disaster drills to include areas where <br /> objectives were met and areas needing improvement to the <br /> Environment of Care Committee will then evaluate these objectives. <br /> The annual summary will be presented to the Governing Board and the <br /> Medical Executive Committee. <br /> H. Department Director: Responsibility to provide the necessary training and <br /> support of the Emergency Operations Plan. <br /> 1. Maintain staff recall roster, update monthly. <br /> 2. Nursing Supervisor: Functions as command or general staff until <br /> relieved by Administration or Department Director. <br /> 3. Shift Managers: Function as general staff, chiefs, or work in areas as <br /> assigned by the general staff. <br /> I. Every Employee is responsible for <br /> 1. Reading the Emergency Management manual. <br /> 2. Know their departmentspecific role during a disaster. <br /> 3. Reporting emergency management concerns first through their <br /> Department Director and/or Supervisor. Employees are also <br /> empowered to report issues directly to the Safety Officer, Risk <br /> Manager, or the Administration of Doctors Hospital of Manteca. <br /> 4. Provide updated information to their Department Director with correct <br /> home phone numbers and addresses. <br /> 5.
