Solid Waste Disposal Facility 5 Year Permit <br />Review <br />This letter is to address your concerns as outlined in your <br />letter of August 18, 1988 regarding the draft Solid Waste <br />Facility Permit for the above referenced landfill. The following <br />is a summary of your concerns and the current disposition. <br />1. Food Processing Waste. Farm Bureau opposes the disposal of <br />Food Processing Waste. <br />Disposition: Handling food processing waste will not be <br />allowed under the proposed permit. <br />2. Shredder Waste. Farm Bureau opposes the disposal of <br />Shredder Waste. <br />Disposition: Handling shredder waste will not be allowed <br />under the proposed permit. <br />3. Landfill Gas Migration Farm Bureau opposes off-site <br />migration of gas. <br />Disposition: The State Waste Management Board staff <br />conducted an inspection on September 29, 1988 and found no <br />indication of methane gas problems at the site. All on-site <br />structures were checked with a organic vapor analyzer and borings <br />around the site perimeter were analysed with a gas meter. All <br />test results were in compliance with state law. <br />4. Contaminated Soil.
