Transfer/Processing Report <br /> Tracy Materia/Recovery& Transfer Facility <br /> 30703 S. MacArthur Drive, Tracy, California 95377 <br /> also used onsite for dust suppression purposes, are available to suppress small <br /> fires, should they occur. Process water used for dust or fire control or other <br /> operational requirements, and will be minimized only to what is necessary. Surface <br /> water runoff, including all process water and potential fire flow, is directed to onsite <br /> retention basins by use of drain pipes, grading design, and drainage ditches, where <br /> it is properly treated, if necessary, to eliminate potential environmental impacts. <br /> Front-end loaders and excavator are available to aid in the management of materials <br /> to combat fire or prevent its spread. All firefighting equipment is properly maintained <br /> and available on a continuous basis. <br /> Housekeeping <br /> Tracy provides adequate housekeeping daily for the maintenance of facility <br /> equipment and shall minimize accumulations of fuel drums, inoperable equipment, <br /> parts, tires, scrap, and similar items. <br /> Parts will be stored within the Maintenance Building. In addition to the programs <br /> described above, facility personnel will ensure that supplies, parts, containers and <br /> equipment are properly stored so that they do not present a hazard or nuisance to <br /> the facility. <br /> Lighting <br /> The facility has been equipped with adequate lighting, either through natural or <br /> artificial means, to ensure the ability to monitor incoming loads, effectiveness of <br /> operations, and public health, safety and the environment. <br /> The site has existing night lighting consisting of downward directed lights mounted <br /> on building exteriors or poles located in the adjacent operations areas. As proposed <br /> operations areas are developed, additional lighting needs will be assessed; any <br /> additional lighting installed will consist of downward directed lights mounted on <br /> building exteriors or poles located in those operations areas, consistent with the <br /> Conditions of Approval for the project. <br /> Mobile equipment such as loaders and trucks are all equipped with lights. <br /> Power Failure <br /> In the event of a major power outage, it is not necessary to cease waste transfer <br /> operations. Scales are equipped with battery packs for short-term emergency <br /> operations. Waste transfer operations can continue uninterrupted during daylight <br /> hours. Mobile light towers, such as those used during nighttime construction <br /> activities, may be rented from local rental companies to allow waste transfer during <br /> periods of darkness, if necessary.
