The main access road, scales, and scale house for the Forward Landfill are in the northeast corner
of the site. Trucks enter the landfill at the main entrance gate and then turn immediately north along
a main entrance road that runs parallel to Austin Road.
The exit road from the landfill is paved to prevent track -out. In 2013 Forward constructed a tire
wash station along the south side of main landfill exit road to efficiently clean truck tires and then
extended the length of the tire wash by 30 -ft in 2015. In 2019, Forward constructed an additional
tire wash on the north side of the main exit road, The 2019 tire wash is similar to the tire wash
constructed in 2013/2015. In addition to the tire washes, exit roads and Austin Road will be
reviewed on an hourly basis and will be cleaned by sweeper truck and water truck, as needed, to
prevent any build-up of mud.
8. Winter Deck
The winter deck is constructed using a 6 -inch thickness of a combination of gravel, crushed, and
concrete road base. The winter deck is located on the southwest side of WMU FU -19 with a
dimension of approximately 260 -ft by 380 -ft (see Figures 1 & 2).
