Project No. 10-1768 AdvancedGeo
An Employee-Owned Company
4.10. CONFORMANCE WITH LOCAL REQUIREMENTS - 40 CFR 112.70)
All applicable ASTs at this Facility are registered with the Local Applicable Requirements
(LEA) and have current certificates of registration and special use permits required by the
local fire code.
4.11. QUALIFIED OIL-FILLED OPERATIONAL EQUIPMENT - 40 CFR 112.7(k)
There are no oil-filled operational equipment used at the Facility, therefore this section
does not apply.
5.0. DISCHARGE PREVENTION — SPCC PROVISIONS FOR THE FACILITY
The following measures are implemented to prevent oil discharges during the handling,
use or transfer of oil products at the Facility. Oil-handling employees have received
training in the proper implementation of these measures.
5.1. FACILITY DRAINAGE - 40 CFR 112.8(b)
The berm is drained under direct supervision of Facility personnel. The accumulated
water is observed for signs of oil prior to draining. The gate valves are normally kept in a
closed position and locked except when draining the berm. Berm drainage events are
recorded on the form included in Appendix G of this SPCCP.
The content of the berm is inspected by Facility personnel during routine visual
inspections, with any spills being immediately reported to the Primary or Secondary
Emergency Coordinator. Routine visual inspections are conducted to inspect the berm
for any sign of deterioration. If any signs of deterioration are found, these observations
are reported to the Emergency Coordinator or Designated Facility Employee and repairs
are conducted immediately.
Any potential discharge from the fueling area ASTs will be restrained by the secondary
containment structures. Discharges from the tire shop area and small discharges
occurring during unloading operations will be minimally restrained by spill containment
equipment in vicinity of the spill. The Facility includes secondary containment berms and
an oil/water separator which are used as containment for spill sources at the Facility.
The retention basin will only contain stormwater run-off. Discharges not immediately
contained with spill absorbents will be directed by drain inlets to the oil water separator.
Discharges, such as those occurring in the maintenance building (while loading waste oil)
will be contained within the building where clean up measures will be conducted.
